Of the 33.5% of Californians who speak a language other than English in the home, nearly one in ten speaks no English at all. We no longer live in a uniform society wherein ideas and transactions are carried out in the same tongue, but rather in a diverse global convergence where the need for multilingual professionals is ever increasing.
Our interpreters, in every language, have demonstrated the requisite linguistic skills and proficiency in Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpretation and Sight Translation. In addition, they uphold the profession’s standards with integrity by remaining impartial, working unobtrusively, handling pressure with ease, and reacting quickly to work through complex linguistic problems.
Joel Bloom is a devotee of all things international, foremost language and travel. He has taught and lived in four South American republics, traversed Central America and the Latin Caribbean, and resided in Portugal and Spain for the greater part of his undergraduate studies. With a degree in International Spanish for Business from the University of Colorado, Joel went on to pursue graduate studies in Romance Linguistics. Inspired by his passion for language and driven to create a company that could benefit people from all corners of the world, he founded Adept Interpreting soon thereafter.
Joel became a State Certified Interpreter in 2003, and has since worked with every imaginable business sector out there with multilingual needs. He is constantly exploring Latin America, the Far East or the South Pacific, seeking possibilities for business development in language. Joel is truly passionate, driven, and enthused by his international perspective, and has an empirical understanding that the society we live in today is a global convergence that cannot function without bridging language barriers.
Away from work, Joel enjoys expanding his mind, whether seeking solace in running or traveling to destinations off the beaten path. He remains extremely interested in the study of language, is an avid reader of anything pertaining to history or exploration, and is always excited to explain his viewpoints on language acquisition or be tested on obscure vocabulary in his language specialties.
